Relation between Turkey and Syria has been heating up for quite some time and ever more intensified at their national border within the past few days. After its F-4 Phantom military plane was down by Syria’s heat seeking laser-guided anti-aircraft missile, Turkey has decided to deploy rocket launchers and anti-aircraft guns along their border in the coastal town of Iskenderun.
Information about Syria these days is scatchy at best. DEBKAfile reported that the Republican Guard battalion commander charged with the Syrian president’s security is keeping the President shut away in his “Unity” palace, preventing him and his family from leaving the building without permission. Meanwhile, DEBKAfile’s unconfirmed report stated US and Gulf armies are on high alert.
President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday announced that his country is at war. On Thursday the opposition forces attacked Syrian’s main court in central Damascus. A loud explosion echoed through the streets and a column of black smoke rose over the city of Damascus, Reuters reported.
As the military conflicts reach the city of Damascus, watchers all around the world are attempting to interpret the meaning of Damascus becoming a ruinous heap as described in Isaiah 17. Would it be due to explosion of weapons of mass destruction, and if so WHO DUN IT? With military conflicts between the government and various internal opposition forces, as well as possible military involvement of ‘several’ foreign forces, solving the equation is becoming complicated day by day. One well known prophecy teacher famously said long ago that if you wake up one day and heard a loud noise coming from Damascus, lookup, because your redemption draweth nigh. Fortunately, or unfortunately -depending on one’s spiritual convictions, the loud noise heard today may not be loud enough to warrant the looking up yet. Nonetheless, it’s getting close!
