Rare earthquake of M5.2 hits Victoria, Australia

People who live down under had a chance to experience a foretaste of the sign of what is yet to come.

The biggest earthquake in more than a century has  hit the State of Victoria, at around 9 pm, lasing  20 seconds in some areas. Windows were rattled, floors rocked and lamps and roofs shaken. The USGS registered it as a 5.2 quake. It felt to some people as though a train was coming through. The earthquake spread itself statewide, reaching as far as 10km across southwest of Moe in the state’s south-southeast, 18km west of Morwell, 30km off Traralgon and 78km southwest of Sale.
